With 10+ years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, event management and content development, Melissa "Lissa" Martin is now available for consulting services through her new enterprise, M.M. Comms & Consulting.

 

Lissa has developed and implemented communications and brand-building strategies for companies of all sizes, from pre-launch startups to established global organizations. With an emphasis on helping mission-driven businesses create social impact, Lissa has advised clients across lifestyle, tech, food, fitness, legal, career-building and nonprofit industries. In addition to running client accounts at NYC-based public relations agency Derris, Lissa served as Head of Communications for recruiting startup WayUp, and handled marketing, events and corporate communications at Sullivan & Cromwell, a top-tier international law firm. In 2020, she led the production of the Mystic Museum of Art's first-ever virtual gala, raising more than $50k for a COVID-safe reopening. She reprised her co-host role in 2021, raising $60k for new technology to enhance visitors' gallery experience.

Lissa is a proud graduate and active alumna of Colby College, serving for 8 years as Vice President and Chief Communications Officer of the New York Colby Club, and most recently as a group leader for Colby's Anti-Racist Book and Film Club. A New Jersey native and New Yorker for 11 years, Lissa is currently operating out of Mystic, CT, but open to opportunities anywhere!
